Baby with a cellphone

Kyleeann is only 7 months old but she already has a cell phone! She loves to chew on my phone and so I thought it would be a good idea for her to have her own so she wouldn't get mine so slimy.

I got it to go in her Easter basket but I was so excited to see it when I got it in the mail and we ended up giving it to her.
She loves it!

Waffles

I found a recipe for waffles when I was looking up ideas to help with teething. I made them this weekend for Kyleeann LOVES them.
I found the recipe at: http://threemoreweeks.blogspot.com/2013/05/frozen-waffles-for-teething-babe.html

They are very easy and delicious.

Kyleeann likes them toasted or frozen

She likes them so much she sometimes gets them more than just for breakfast.

She chows them down

172nd Relief Society Birthday

Last night was our Relief Society activity celebrating Relief Society. It was a lot of work but I think it turned out well. I was too busy and distracted to remember to take pictures but here are a couple my friend Ashlee took. If I would have remembered I would have gotten a picture of the tables and the speakers. I made the centerpieces (presents, which were really Kleenex boxes wrapped in cute paper and ribbon). We also did a potluck salad social, lots of yummy food.

Here is a group shot, I think only three people had left before we took this, we had a good turn out.
Small group shot. Robert did the nursery so he had Kyleeann most of the night which was a huge help. I took her so he could eat.

Ok I did find some.
Our "bringeth forth good fruit" tree

Our "party favors"
Daughters In My Kingdom books and magnets I made with our theme for activities for the year.

Baby led weaning

I decided to forgo baby purée food and do a baby feeding approach called baby led weaning. I heard about it for the first time in November then I did a bunch of research and decided it was the path I wanted to take with Kyleeann.
She doesn't like to be fed so this approach works great for her. One day I will take the time to figure out how to post videos but for now here are a couple of pictures. It's really fun to watch her eat because she is so cute and does such a good job.

Eating sweet potatoes. She loves sweet potatoes!

Eating toast. She eats toast a lot. I always have bread and it's quick.

Kyleeann has had: broccoli, green beans, potatoes, avocado, sweet potatoes, toast, bananas, applesauce, cucumbers, and tomatoes.

I found a good waffle recipe I need to make her I have just had a busy week and haven't gotten to it yet.

St. Patrick's Day

I love St. Patrick's Day! I don't make corned beef or cabbage so I had to make something green.
This is lemonade pie I dyed green.
We went to Kindergarten and read them a book about St. Patrick's Day
Kyleeann in her St. Patrick's Day shirt
I was cleaning up from dinner when I knocked over the container of poppyseed dressing.
It went everywhere and was a huge mess!
One last photo of Kyleeann. She kept pulling up her shirt and giggling. Goofy girl!

Pi Day!

We celebrated Pi day over at the Dawson's. Wendy made a delicious chicken pot pie for dinner and I brought pies (key lime, lemonade, and banana cream pie) for dessert.

As usual I did a bad job with taking photos.
Here is a piece of the key lime pie. It was my first time making one and it was delicious. I was making three pies so I used all store bought crusts and the one I used for the key lime was a shortbread one. I had never seen pre-made shortbread crust before so I thought I would just give it a try and it was awesome!

IKEA Trip

We took a family trip to IKEA. There were a few things I needed and today seemed like a good day to go.
This is a giant stuffed moose. It was so soft! Kyleeann loved holding it.

This is one of the things I needed at IKEA. Spice racks I used as bookshelves for Kyleeann's room. I love how it turned out!

Beach Trip

We decided to go to the beach before the spring breakers came and invaded.
It was almost 60 degrees out, so Kyleeann had her jacket and hat on
 She was having fun!
Sand, a new experience for her
We only stayed 15-20 minutes but Kyleeann took full advantage of that time to cover her legs with sand...
And of course tasting it as well

Kyleeann Time

Sometimes Kyleeann just wants her alone time. Here she is in the chair with a few toys.
She was having some tummy time after her bath. Kyleeann would much rather be on her back so this is her about to flip over.

Fat Tuesday

Galveston celebrates Mardi Gras for two weekends. It is the next biggest Mardi Gras celebration place after New Orleans, or at least I read that a few different places. People even decorate their house for Mardi Gras here, and the stores are stocked up with Mardi Gras supplies including having lots of King Cakes. I decided that I wanted to make King Cake this year and celebrate too.
This is Kyleeann while we were at the store getting supplies
 Eating her Kangaboo
I didn't actually make King Cake, more work and more cake than I wanted so I did these King Cake Knots. They did not turn out well for me. I couldn't get the dough to unroll so I was messing with it and rolled it out and just overworked it so they came out kind of deformed and they were smaller and I didn't think to adjust the time so they were over done as well. Oh well, I still ate some.
Next year I will make them again and they will hopefully turn out better.

7 Months!

This little cutie is 7 months! I finally get use to saying whatever month she is and then it changes.
Her board says: She is 16.5 pounds and 26 inches
She is now eating solid foods and loves Avocado
She is now in size 3 diapers
She loves paper (if it is in her reach she will grab it and put it in her mouth), walks, and reading.
I loved the outfit she wore today. I found the dress before she was born and I got the leg warmers from Snuggle Luv, also before she was born.
